Dr. Fortidas Bakuza
System Transformation Coach

Dr. Fortidas Bakuza (United Republic of Tanzania) is an Assistant Professor at the Aga Khan University- Institute for Education Development East Africa in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania where he specializes in teaching and learning in early childhood education.
Dr. Bakuza holds a doctorate degree in Education Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo. His research focuses on Early Childhood Education leadership and policies with emphasis on evidence-based policies and programs on Early Childhood Education leadership. He calls for investment in capacity building of Early Childhood service providers from government and civil society organizations especially in developing countries.
Dr. Bakuza is excited to extend his expertise to Spark Health Africa as the System Transformation Coach. Spark Health Africa is launching a transformative leadership and culture change initiative in Tanzania working across the various sectors in early childhood development including health, education, community development, finance, and others.
The initiative is funded by the Hilton Foundation. Dr. Bakuza will lead Spark Health Africa’s efforts in driving organizational change within Early Childhood Development (ECD) in Tanzania.
The project meets his desire to transform Early Childhood leadership in Tanzania and he is looking forward to working with Spark Health Africa Team and local partners in Tanzania to realise the objectives of the project.
