Spark Health Africa develops a tailored curriculum that is informed by insights from the detailed baseline needs assessmentthat is delivered through two workshops. The first is a 2-day workshop aimed at introducing the Senior Leadership Team to the Spark Health Africa philosophy of culture change through transformational leadership. The second is 5-day workshop that takes the multi-disciplinary teams from the selected sub-national health teams through several modules aimed at imparting skills which will form the basis of the development behaviours and practices that transform mere work groups into highly effective teams in order to build resilience. The multi-disciplinary teams leave the workshop with very specific service delivery gaps that they will address over a two-year period. These gaps and their planned responses are summarized on what we call an ‘Implementation Canvas’ which not only serves as a call to action, but effectively constitutes the government’s commitment to consistent and systematic execution of the transformation agenda.
