Strategic Alignment and Planning
In line with our principles, Spark Health Africa’s agenda in a given country is strictly informed by each government’s strategic priorities. As such, our planning phase is focused on creating strategic alignment with all the collaborating stakeholders to establish high levels of alignment and commitment towards the attainment of the strategic priorities of each government as represented by its ministry of health. We frontload the issue of sustainability and continuity of the transformational thinking agenda at program inception, by supporting the development of capacity across multiple sectors, namely government departments, multilateral donors, implementing partners, and the communities they serve.
We achieve strategic alignment through an upfront investment in time and effort that focuses on the creation of supportive institutional arrangements and the development of instruments for governance for the collaborative initiative. This results in establishment of a guiding coalition of senior leadership made up of representatives from National and sub-national Ministry of Health that is equipped with the relevant leadership skills. The senior leadership team sets the tone for the urgency with which the culture change initiative will be launched and is the custodian of the change agenda initiative beyond the collaborative period with Spark Health Africa.
