Eastern Cape Province, South Africa (2016-2017)
In Eastern Cape, we worked as a CDC sub-grantee in the context of a TB/HIV Care led consortium to support programmatic implementation and technical assistance for HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis prevention, care, and treatment services in two districts.
Our mandate was to amplify the District Planning and Leadership Development work streams at district and sub-district level through the infusion of business practices into the healthcare systems that are dominated by clinical practices.
After the 12 month period, teams were more aware of the impact that behavioural dimensions had on service delivery. This led to an increased prioritising of non- program problem areas such as accountability and motivation. Having the two districts working together also facilitated cross fertilisation of ideas.
